Project Groups

Application is now open for this year’s project groups!

  • Aurora Space Camp, a trip to Esrange Space Center and the northern lights
  • Space Students Sweden Conference, the meeting place for all students in Sweden interested in space
  • CubeSat Design Workshop, the kickstart of our very first satellite project

Does this sound like fun? Join our project groups to make it happen!

We are now looking for members who want to form the project groups to organize our upcoming events for the first half of 2026!

Project roles are appointed continuously, application closes on Nov 2

About our Projects

Aurora Space Camp

A trip to the arctic circle with visits to Esrange Space Center, IRF and more! This student excursion is planned to be held in late winter and will not only provide enlightening and inspiring visits to the Esrange Space Center and the institute of Space Physics, but also unique chances to see the northern lights! And of course, a stellar opportunity to meet other space students and have fun!

This group will likely have completed it’s project by March

Space Students Sweden Conference

The first edition of our annual national conference for students in Sweden interested in space. This will be our landmark event for all of our member associations and members to meet and discuss student projects, space research and the Swedish Space industry. Most importantly, this will be a unique opportunity to meet like-minded individuals from all over Sweden, discuss how we can help shape the future of space and just have fun together!

This group will likely have completed it’s project by the end of the spring semester

CubeSat Design Workshop

The youth of Sweden is finally getting a satellite program! Together with Astronomisk Ungdom, we are kicking off the AU Satellite program, and the first step to start gathering and building the competence required for satellite projects is a CubeSat Design Workshop! This event will provide an introduction into satellite design and space engineering, taught by experts in the field. The participants will work hands on together as a team in a concurrent engineering project to flesh out a conceptual design for AUSAT-1, with the goal of laying the foundation and finding individuals who want to be part of building and launching our first CubeSat!

The date of the workshop is TBD, but this group will wrap up during the summer (with ample opportunity to continue to be a part of the AUSAT program)
